Great piece from Andy hunter @ guardian on LFC

Very interesting developments. Not sure of what to think yet as no announcements have been made. Should we end up with Luis Van Gaal as sporting director and AVB as manager that wouldn't be a bad combination.

I think given resources there is a great chance AVB will put us back in contention for CL. At the very least he should be able to make us compete more than Kenny did at home last season. I am sure AVB will have learnt a lot from his Chelsea experience, and it wasn't a coincidence he 10 months ago was one of the most sought after managers.

People tend to remember the last thing that happened very well. Maybe if we (us premier league fans) had more access to the lower profile leagues such as the Portuguese and German and it was more widely covered in the media we would be more upbeat about the prospects of signing AVB as a manager.

I think he may have one or two bargain buys up his sleeve as well but then again a certain Mr. Brekke has pointed out before that I never fail too see the positive in a bad situation when it comes to Liverpool.
