City game yesterday_5 tings we learned_and Michael Cox's view on Liverpool Man United game plus comments and lastly a look at Nigel Atkins.

The man is atop the championship just now and last night beat Westham who has spent considerably more money. I thought I would look into what this man is about. Thought it was an interesting history. He was a goal keeper and learnt his trade in the lower leagues. He has clearly got something about him.Read this and thought especially the Dzeko point. I think he has had a decent season and just havent played enough lately in the team to be 110% sharp. Next game if he starts I think he may score 3 goals again. Agree with the comments of being narrow but Kolarov and Clichy helps that process by storming forward on the wings. Same with Richards when he is playing. Last night it was Zabaleta who just isnt the same quality as the aforementioned wingbacks.

Man City still won on a bad day and although not looking convincing in the process, it is definitely looking a step in the right direction. I think it is just a matter of time before they qualify from the group. The defence can also still be strengthened. Thought Nasri looked abject yesterday and I have no idea why.

Good ananlysis on the game on Saturday. In my note on here about the game on Saturday I mentioned Bellamy and thought that would have potentially made the difference in us keeping our result. The hard working yet combatative midfielder has got pace and likes to take a man on when he plays down the flank. I am surprised Michael Cox did not mention that since he did mention Andy Carroll.

We have yet to see the best of Downing and he could do with a goal or two for his confidence. Hopefully it comes against Norwich on the weekend.

Oh btw if anyone watched the Real game last night... Benzema loooks good and Ronaldo once again should have had a goal or two. Would like to see both in the PL one day although they are probably unlikely to sign for Liverpool unless one of them falls out of favour.

On that note, after what happened to Adam Johnson yesterday... might be be available one wonders? The rumours and gossip has already been in the tabloid about our interest. It would be a terrific signing for us and hopefully he would not be too expensive neither. (I would personally prefer Milner as he got more power, industry and can still score goals but to be fair Johnson is better at beating a man).

YNWA,
Stian
