Article on having Stevie back and Game verdict

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/oct/16/liverpool-manchester-united-steven-gerrard

Personally think we should have won the game.

3 reasons
1) Atrocious marking on the corner goal. Both Wellbeck and Chicharito was open while Skretel and Gerrard was not covering anyone. (Gerrard should own up to it instead of being happy with a draw agains the champions in my opinion - his comments in the article above needs to change)
2) Jordan Henderson's great looping volley that was saved magnificently by De Gea. (Love the Kenny comment in the article above btw)
3) If Kuyt get's slightly better contact on that sliding shot in the dying minutes that is goal. Just unfortunate... and well done to him for attacking.

After a boring first half I thought we improved and started showing what we can be about.

Thought it was a tactical blunder by Kenny to go very defensive when we went up a goal. All of a sudden both defence 4 and midfield 4 are stuck at the edge of the box when we clear the ball instead of pressuring the way we had done throughout the game.

Henderson had a decent sub appearance and I liked that he played more through the middle. Having said that I think Kenny should have subbed Kuyt for Bellamy to offer that pace in behind when united had to attack after our goal. That would have pegged their wing backs back a little further and therefore offered less support to the likes of Rooney, Nani, Chicharito and Wellbeck.

All in all it was good game for us. At home I would have wanted us to risk a bit more in the first half the way we did in the second. Happy to see Adam having a good game again after a few bad ones lately.

I think there was a place for Carroll in the end due to all the crosses being hit into the box in the second half. Having said that it was hard to fit everyone in and Suarez did his part.

Really hope that he is not guilty of racism but if he is, I guess the positive is that he can only learn from it.

Glad to see Ngog get his first goal of the season this weekend as well. Look forward to watching match of the day later today to see how he played.

Also glad to see Spurs loosing points vs. Newcastle. Toon army keep impressing regularly. Ameobi's goal was magic and Demba Ba not much worse.

Thoughts and comments are welcome...

Stian
