europa league better for liverpool?

hehe….. you make me laugh mate. I know, I think we have a better squad than we did in 2005 when we won it. We were lucky then and can get lucky again. I believe scraping through the group stages and going far in the CL will serve us better financially than winning the Europa league. For sporting reasons and confidence I think maybe it would be a good thing to go out in 3rd place now and I think we would have a great chance of winning the Europa league.

Did not read the article below until you sent it to me. Tying lyon at home was devastating in the last round. Personally I think this is a rebuilding year. Benitez did not get the 20m he was promised in the summer and Rafa did not spend wisely.

Email Below is the proof of that.

Anyway, hindsight is a beautiful thing and he has not gone wrong a lot in the transfer market so far (Aurelio free, Kuyt, Torres, Alonso, Agger, Reina and Ngog to name to few). We have less resources than United and Chelsea (net spending) but would like to see us do better on the development front. With Ramsey in Lucas’ position all year things could have looked very different for us.

Who knows what goes on behind the scenes. What would have happened if Rafa had full control over transfers and youth policy earlier in his reign (ie. getting rid of Rick Parry sooner than this summer).

I think he will win the league eventually with Liverpool and I believe we can go through tonight. We have done it before (remember scraping thru with a 40 yarder from Gerrard against Olympicos)

By this point I am sure you are thinking.. …. “dream on Norwegian”

Should we have signed Aquilani ( Mr. injury prone himself) for £19m or should we have signed:

Michael Turner £4m, £6m Lee Cattermole and Niko Krankjar £2,5m and Aaron Ramsay for £3m for a total of £15,5m

Here is the talk about how we could have signed ramsey

However, in Rafa we trust.

I still think he is just about the second best manager in PL! After Wenger!

Interesting article…

Hi Stian You are not the first Liverpool fan to rant about Lucas' skills, He's not turned out to be the player everyone was expecting. Did you see the article this morning about Carragher not being to concerned if you miss out on the next round of the CL? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/8375625.stm He makes some good points, in a nutshell you're not good enough this year to win CL so why not aim for other comps like FA cup or Europa league and try and win them. sound thinking in my eyes. But then I'm a Newcastle fan, maybe we should be focusing on the Johnston Paints trophy!
