Liverpool transfer news (henderson and ngog)

http://m.guardian.co.uk/ms/p/gnm/op/shjuqyThyw02rs8rjOyC6bA/view.m?id=15&gid=football/2011/jun/07/charlie-adam-blackpool-liverpool&cat=football

I think Henderson is a great start. Sad to lose ngog but let's face it... Not a top 4 striker and wasn't going to get enough playing time to develop into one.

Adam I would still like. Let's hope blackpool let's him go for 8m.

More important than him is to address the left wing issue. Looks like Ashley Young is going to united. At least if you believe most recent guardian articles on the matter.

I think downing is the better option but if we want to be bold I would rather go for elia eljero from hamburg (think that is where he still is) or mata from Valencia. Think it would take them some time to adapt to the BPL but may well be worth it to give them a year.

Downing we know works but actually played right wing mostly this year.

Think he can play both wings and he is proven in England but he is expensive and has never made it as a regular in the England squad. Joe cole, downing and adam johnson as well as james milner has fought for that position.

We might be as well off trying to go for a bit younger more unproven (in England) left wing.

Eljero looked great in the world cup but only saw bits and pieces. Mata has proven he can cut it in spain for quite some time but not sure of his age and spanish players fitting in in England is always a question mark. Not as physical league as Germany so who knows... Maybe eljero would be a better fit.

Tweet me @sga555 or email me @ sga555@gmail.com if u know ages of these 3 players pls.

Lastly, I will repeat myself. We need to address the centre back issue. Carra can't play all 38 matches plus cups next year. Bring in Samba.

What happens to spearing, lucas and jonjo's playing time if henderson is used as a central mid (as mentioned in the article) and adam is brought in.

I suspect henderson is thought as right mid and kuyt will be considered more in the striking position (not just right mid/wing).

Depth is definitely starting to show in the central midfield area but if we are going to keep developing the promising youngsters there is a conflict there with that and ambitions.
Easier to develop youngsters in a top 6 team than in a top 4 team.

Suspect spearing will not play much and maybe jonjo go out on loan should adam be signed?

Thoughts/comments wud be welcomed.

Stian

Thought I would mention a good article on mgr vacancy at Villa. Personally I would like to see old Liverpool ledgend and care taker Gary Mcallister be given a chance. And that is despite him being beaten by us.
