End of Season

I have not seen the game today but if you look at Chelsea against Wigan today you can understand why they are champions. When they take off Kalou after about 60 minutes and he has been the best player on the pitch and when Drogba scores a hatrick just cause he wants to be top goal scorer and when Joe Cole comes in and plays better than MAxi Rodriguez have done since he came to Liverpool you understand that we have a long way to go before we are even close to winning the title.

Last year I think we were slightly lucky, and you need a bit of luck to win the title but we drew a lot of games at home last year. LAst year showed us we do not have a good back up for Carragher, Torres and this year has shown that we never had a very good back up for Alonso either. That is three main areas that we should have addressed at the start of last season.

Striker would have been the most important one since we did not have anyone behind Torres that could lead the line. Defence should have been last as we had Agger, Skretel and Ayala in the making.

I just wonder what benitez thought when he bought aquilani. How could he be convinced that someone would play a lot for us that had barely played 30% of the games for Roma the last 3 yrs. Someone must have given him that information.

I have never seen Steven Gerrard more disinterested than this season. The game against Atletico typified his season. He has looked lackluster and half interested too often this season when he infact should have had more of a season like the one Lampard has had for Chelsea. I think it is down to two reasons 1) Alonso is gone 2) situation repeats itself and he as well as most of liverpool team are getting tired of that Stevie G has to bail us out when we cant find some other way to win games.

At the end of the day it has been a majorly disapointing season and we need some new blood player wise and on the owners side. I think it could be healthy to get rid of Gerrard and get in two quality midfieder and a good striker for him.

He is that good and I think we could get that kind of money for him. Obviously depends on him being willing to go and who comes in for him

anyway, lets hope next season is better. Chris bascombe told us there will be a lot of changes in the summer. I am not sure getting rid of benitez is the best thing due to the alternatives that are available.

what is more important is to get in owners that are willing to spend enough on the club that we can get a new stadium and get rid of some of the mounting debt our club is struggling with.

Funny that that never was an issue before the Americans came in. Too many broken promises and they should leave the club selling it with a deficit as they have not added a penny of value.

Stian
