JOSE to liverpool? and Should Rafa go...

Listen to the last thing he says in this interview...

I personally hope

1) rafa to REAL
2) Jose to Liverpool.

For two reasons...

1) I think he just edges Rafa in motivating the players
2) better clout in the transfer market (see what he got out of the Ibrahimovich deal in the summer) or how cheap he got Sneider and Pandev for...

Yes, first time I say it.

I think Jose might be a better solution for Liverpool than Rafa...

have lost faith... partly due to not motivating players for certain games (wigan, lille and pompey earlier this year) and partly due to his signing of aquilani....

I said it minutes after the siging of Alberto was ready. This was a risk for a team that does not have a large squad to be signing a player that had played 30% in the last few years for 20mill...

Evidence have shown that he was not worth the money, but in saying that he could still come good. I just dont think that it was the right way to spend the money given the timing, our limited squad, our dire need of a backup striker and a top class winger.

This season have especially proven that Ngog isnt good enough as a backup striker. I have said several times that Pavlyochenko would have been a brilliant signing and he is now coming good for Tottenham.

steven taylor at LFC Calgary can testify to that and my skepticism to Aquilanis injury record upon hours of the news of him being rumored to be signed.

Yes rafa has been unlucky, with injuries to Glen Johnson who was a great signing. He has also had things go against him but the adventurous style that he attempted at the start of the season have been completely absent until the recent game against Pompey.

That team he started then is the best all season. He has also yet failed to deal with our defensive issues on set pieces.... for the longest time.. (seems to be more under control the last few games).

Hopefully he starts the same team and does not revert to the Lucas Man crush against Lille and United at the weekend.

Only change from the Pompey team I would not mind seeing is Kuyt/Benayoun in for Maxi on one of the wings to get more balanced midfield against united. Lille we should be able to beat anyway...

Maxi had had a decent run but you wonder why we signed Riera now that we have 3 others that just seem to have edged their way ahead of Albert. (Babel, Benayoun, and Maxi and arguably Aurelio as well depsite injury).

Riera was too expensive and another signing where in my opinion the money could have been spent wiser...

Robben 10Mill punds. Sneider less than 20mill pounds...
both were available from Real in the summer and Rafa was after Van Der Vaart... not a bad player by any means but probably the third best out of the lot...

anyway, with Villa's win tonight (a game in hand) my fear that we might not have a chance to take 4th place is reiterated and becomes more real for every game.

All three teams wont slip up I do not think... and they are currently ahead of us in the table... if they win games in hand and we have to play chelsea and united as well as city..

fingers crossed we win them all and I think we still have a slight hope but it is disappearing quickly...

YNWA,

Stian
