Fiorentina, game this weekend, our defensive problems, lucas, babel and

Sorry for not blogging for a while... just been mental busy
here it goes...

stian

Well to be fair that is what benitez has already been out and said today.. I think I read it in the echo...

that we are going to see a completely different liverpool on Sunday and I really hope he is right. gonna come down for that one although we are going out on Saturday for a birthday party and it might be a tough morning...

Pls have some compassion when I do show up...

Jared, you express quite a few concerns defensively and I could not agree more. Carra is not looking the player he once was and I think it is time to blood the Agger and Skretel partnership for good now with Carra being a good back up against the weaker teams.

I think he is floating a bit on the status in the team at the moment and being vice captain. His lack of pace is becoming more and more apparent every game and I just think he is not as good as hyppia at reading the game, intercepting and not nearly as dominant in the air.

How much money do you think Rafa will have to spend in the January window?

Would be awesome if he finally got the 20m he was promised and spent them more wisely than on an injured player. We could have needed a good replacement for Alonso agianst Villa, Tottenham and lastly Fiorentina.

I have also argued for a while with my buddy Benny about Lucas. I think he is improving due to the unraveled confidence shown in him by Rafa. I believe that he has had some bad games but will prove a quality player for us in the future. I think Ryan Babel would benefit from more confidence and playing time as well in much the same way.

Ie. why not start him next to Torres in a 4-4-2 to have another string to play on should or first tactic not work or should Torres or Gerrard get injured.

Defensively we should also discuss the zonal marking on dead balls and set pieces although I fear we just tend to agree on that one..,.

Cheers,

stian

I saw the match and never want to see anothe rmatch like that. We were
horrible! They beat us to every ball and closed us down quickly and never
let us settle on the ball.

The second goal was clearly a result of us relying on the offside trap and
you know the addage... "Live by the offside trap, die by the offside
trap". We were so focussed on someone being offside (who wasn't playing
the ball) that we stopped playing. Unfortunately the goal scorer WASN'T
offside and the goal counted. A wake up call to be sure.

It may be a bit of a wake up call for the team. We didn't play with any
heart and looked lethargic throughout. Perhaps a good kick in the ass is
exactly what we needed.

Hopefully Sunday will see a different Liverpool come out to play!

YNWA,
Jared
