Aston Villa game on Monday

Personally I was just bitterly disapointed after Monday.

To me it was a story of missed chances and poor defending and yet again we show that this zonal marking on deadballs is not working. Against Tottenham it was the same thing. We let in goals not defending properly on set plays.

Both Steven Gerrard and Dirk Kuyt missed a host of chances and Gerrard's tackle was completely unnecessary. When the penalty was conceeded we were just about to get back into the game after Torres' goal and the ball was running away from Reo Cocker when Gerrard went in for the tackle.

At the same time Skretel was right there and able to clear basically the same moment as Gerrard took down Nigel Reo Cocker.

We are already 6 pts off the pace and I am not that worried yet but what I will say is that the start we have had does not bode well for the future.

Bolton game away this weekend is a must win game. We need to get back on track and put together a string of wins now.
