Now is the time to have faith in our manager

He has done wonderful things since he came in and for the most part his signings have been decent.

Borini aside and maybe one or two others I think Rogers has got most things right.

This year he has been unlucky with injuries, lack of signing with pace and movement has hurt him but think how different our season had been if we got Sanchez over Ballotelli.

Or if we kept Remy even. I think he would have been our starter if we had chose to believe in him and he was cheap. I would also argue he likely would have outscored Lambert and Ballotelli

and he was available at a cut price deal.

In any case continue to believe in Rogers. He will go back to him playing style, Stelring, Coutinho, Can and our two Spanish wing backs will only get better.

Markovic is a massive talent and was punished harshly for his "flayling" arm in the Basel game.

Rogers has started managing Gerrards playing time which we had been calling for for some time.

Sakho was back on the bench on the weekend.

There are many positives but we need to pick up points going forward and we may need to sign a stop gap solution in January due to lack of success in the striking department.

If we can get 8M for Borini, and spend 10-15M on a quick talented striker that guarantees 10-15 goals in the second half of the season we will be pushing and hopefully get a CL spot.

That is more important than anything now. Sturridge back will help. Increased playing time for Can over Lucas will help.

Henderson coming into form will help. He can be a future leader. Lallana captained Southampton and needs to start showing more consistency.

He will grow into the team just like Henderson did.

I still havent seen the Basel game but verdict on that will come. I just caught the last 15 minutes of the game.

We need to lock down Gerrard for a contract, offer him whatever he wants at this point. 3 yrs and high wages I dont care.

He still is one of the few leaders in the team which we are desperately in need of.

Skertel can step up and be more of a leader. Henderson can continue to do that. I go back to Agger. He must have some leadership qualities since he was made vice captain last year and

he is captain of Denmark when he is fit. I think we have suffered because we chose to let him go and I suspect if he was here he would have got into the team when Skertel and Lovren had a few stinkers.

Having said that it is also down to philosophy and playing with two defensive mids gives us so much more defensive solidity and the ability for our denders and midfielders to limit space is much better.

Of course that has to be married up with effort, and diciplined performances the team still need to avoid personal errors but give the man some credit for turning things around.

We were very close to qualifying yesterday although I probably agree we did not deserve it.
