I would add that it was Coutinho's best game of the year.
Also we had wing backs that played in their best positions and are recognized proper wing backs (MOreno and Manquillo).
Henderson was back in the centre of midfield which is his by far best position. We needed legs next to either Gerrard or Lucas and we got that. A mobile midfielder next to the other defensive mid was a must.
Can looked great again personally for now it is best to keep him where he is playing in central D. He has got confidence and am enjoying it.
In other words we got selection spot on for this game. Keep faith in the same line up for the next game would be my mantra and if Lucas is tired switch him with Gerrard.
I read somewhere that Sakho took a knock so perhaps stick in Lovren there. Both are prone to errors and Sakho made some big ones but if he is fit I would continue with him as he will only get better as nears full fitness still coming back from injury. 1st goal was his fault as it leads to Skertel attention being diverted towards Bony because he thinks he needs to cover for Sakho. Sakho is slow to cover bony, eventually gets to the header but so late that he cant direct it away from danger and instead hits it across the box where Skertel is too late across to cover Sigurdsson.
The only reason he is in that position is because Sakho is not covering his own man (bony) properly in that situation.
Shortly after Sakho misplaces a pass directly to a Swansea player about 30 yards from goal which leads to an open shot directly from just inside 25 yards. That could have very easily led to Swansea equalizing and with the fragile under belly the team has at the moment the end result could have (turned to shite -- pardon the pun) and/or been very different.
We are going to see the majority of the ball against Leichester and I think we could introduce Gerrard for Lucas if we are struggling to make a breakthrough come 50 mins. Another option would be to use Allen if fit again from injury but I do not think he is ready yet.
Would be fun to see more of Ballotelli towards the end and to get him a goal to start off the new year proper playing next to Sterling but I doubt that will happen until very late in the game. 70 min plus.

Stian
