Personally I also think Sturridge warrants a place in the England squad. If he can hack it at Chelsea he can hack it at the international stage.
Rooney, Sturridge up front in a 4-4-2 or even with rooney right behind in a 4-2-3-1 with downing on the left and Adam Johnson/Milner/Ashley Young down the right is a pretty decent attack in my book.
Based on Carroll's current form I would not pick him.

It makes for a pretty dangerous starting 11 with Steven Gerrard, John Terry, a few of the midfielders mentioned above on the bench all of a sudden England looks like a decent team.
