I hope we now go after Christopher Samba in a big way.
He would be a leader at the back, got pace and would shore up the defence. Carra can step down a bit. Soto can be limited to the odd game and we can start giving young danny wilson a shot...
Would be terrific if we can see some of the development we did last year continue where the young guns keep getting games and time on the pitch.
Saying that we have an awful lot of midfielders now and some thinning of the squad is required. Poulsen, jovanovic, maxi, cole, spearing... Are they all going to get playing time with lucas, gerrard, shelvey, adam, henderson, kuyt and downing potentially with aurelio having the capability to step in at left back.
I think we have to get rid of someone.

I liked greg ruffley's article in guardian mentioned a few post back on liverpools new midfield. Downing just adds excitement to those scenarios.
