REPEAT: Rarely have I been more frustrated. - WestBrom game verdict

Nothing has changed...

For those that think Kenny is so great, look at the last two games. We have struggled and played terribly. He has not picked up on what was sorely needed. I wrote about it in Feb when we lost to West ham and we have seen it again today.

Comments below are my first point.

Secondly, why is not Cole getting a chance in the middle of the park today? why is he playing two defensive midfielders with no offensive bones in their bodies. When we win the ball they stand still, when we were defending in second half after the goal we are walking around in midfield until the ball comes within 15 yards.

Why is Mereiles being used on the wing when he is clearly an excellent central midfielder or even offensive midfielder right behind Suarez.

Carroll showed today that he is clearly not fit. He should have started on the bench today and we should have had Maxi, Cole, Lucas (DM) Mereiles (second striker) and Kuyt with Suarez up front.

Instead we set up with a defensive team that just gets outplayed by West Brom.

Again today I see a lack of desire and fight in the boys that shows we need a leader like Samba or Parker.

The injuries was difficult to take today. We lose a lot of our fluency when Agger and Johnson is out. The commentators on Setanta was correct in saying that Glen Johnson often becomes an outlet down the left and he knows to get past people and is not afraid to carry the ball.

The same can be said about Agger. He is a creative, football playing centre back and that can not be said for Kyriakos, Carra or Skretel.

It is a shame Danny Wilson only gets chances on the left. To be fair to the lad he was one of the bright spots coming on and impressing at left back. His performance was miles better than the one against West Ham.

Other than that I thought Reina and Suarez had good games.

We need more people to step up however. When you have guys like Maxi and Cole on the bench that are top internationals I do not understand why we opt to go with Spearing and Merieles is simply not a winger.

From for example the United game we seem to have lost that desire to push a lot of bodies forward when we are attacking and that is sad to see.

Kuyt looked tired and it is obvious he will need a bit of a rest. I am not sure when the next game is but I would give him a few days off to recover at this point. He could have had a goal today but got unlucky.

Other than that I thought the two penalty decisions were pretty harsh. I am not sure either was a penalty. First one Kyriakos got a touch on the ball it looked like. Second one I think is harsh but right. Dont know why reina decides to throw his leg out at Odemwingie.

I guess my point is that today we are showing why we are not a top 4 team. We do not have have the breath in squad and I think the manager fails to pick the right guys today.

If we can get Morinho in the summer that should be our top priority. I think the owners have been wise not to appoint Kenny just yet, just in case a top manager becomes available.

Jose Morinho, Guus Hiddink and maybe Fabio Capello would be the only ones I would go for before Kenny however. If we cant get any of those, which is quite likely, appoint Kenny and give him money to spend cause there a tons of players out there that would improve this squad.

First and foremost though we need to start playing our best guys.

Dont know what the injury situation is but hope Maxi, Cole, Lucas, Kuyt starts across the midfield and next game unless Gerrard is fit. (take Lucas' place).

YNWA,
Stian

Fw: SV: [Andersen's blog] Rarely have I been more frustrated. - Westham game verdict

Great comments.

In my opinion we could put reina as captain in the interim and bring in Parker and Samba to fight to take over the captaincy.

Lastly we need a winger or two that can beat ppl. Ashley Young has been mentioned.
