yet another solid performance from the boys. Good to see Keane getting another goal and to be fair we should have had at least another one.... disallowed by the linesman and the ref for offside... The same was true however for Atletico. They had a goal dissalowed and manged to create a frigthening amount of chances on our boys. Arbeloa has been half decent so far this season but today he was absent several times when Simao came bombing down that left side.
It is only fitting then that we had actually agreed a fee for Simao a few years ago only to be cancelled last minute by Benfica, asking for Liverpool to pay more money.
Anyhow.,.. we got a point and now we only need to beat them at home to get the famous 10 pts to qualify for the next stage.
Aguero did not start the game but came on in the second half and proved the difference. He could have had a goal or two but was simply unlucky not to be able to capitalize on some poor defending from Carra and Agger in the middle...
Reina looked solid as he was called upon to make one or two important saves to keep the attacking Atletico out....
Conceeding late will always be disapointing however, many of our best players had walked off the pitch by that point... Alonso, Keane, Gerrard was all given an early shower hopefully to get them fit and up for the game against Chelsea on Sunday.
